Section One - Heretek T'au

Kor’lok, The Harmony Bearing

Designation: Guardian of the Galactic Thread

Also Known As: The Celestial Integrator, Starweaver, The Mind Between Worlds

Caste Association: Ethereal Caste

Primary Symbol: An open hand cradling a sphere divided into four caste sigils

Overview

To the T’au, Kor’lok represents the preserving force of balance, cohesion, and compassionate control. Where T’au’va is the flame that destroys, Kor’lok is the thread that weaves stars into a single tapestry. Believed to be the one who first whispered the concept of T’au’va into the void, Kor’lok is seen not only as a protector but as the architect of interstellar unity.

He is most closely revered by the Ethereal caste, who view his example as the spiritual guide for their leadership. Where others burn or build, Kor’lok connects.

Mythic Form

Kor’lok manifests as a luminous, floating figure of perfect symmetry. Clad in flowing layers of translucent light-fabric, he bears four arms, each extending toward a different quadrant of the stars. His head features no mouth, only a soft radiating core at the center of his forehead — symbolizing communication through pure intention.

It is said he travels through sunlight, appearing at moments of peril to those who maintain their faith in the Greater Good.

Sacred Teachings

“To divide is to fall. To preserve is to rise.”

The Harmonium Scrolls of Kor’lok

Kor’lok teaches that only through harmony of thought, caste, and action can true prosperity be achieved. His worship emphasizes restraint, diplomacy, foresight, and the sacred necessity of structure — not as limitation, but as liberation.

His followers strive to maintain the flow of knowledge, culture, and will, even in the face of entropy.

Rituals of Invocation

The Binding Chant: Recited by Ethereal conclaves before major diplomatic gatherings or caste conflicts. It calls upon Kor’lok to harmonize dissenting voices.

Unity Reflection Pools: Calm meditative chambers where Kor’lok’s image is projected in rippling light. T’au meditate there to see “beyond themselves.”

Iconography & Influence

His sacred symbol — the Open Hand and Sphere — often appears etched into Ethereal scepters or projected above administrative command hubs.

On multi-caste missions, each commander carries a Unity Node, a crystalline beacon that glows when inter-caste synchronization is strong.

In orbital stations, Kor’lok’s Loom, a symbolic interface that tracks caste efficiency, is often maintained by the most devout Ethereal aides.

Tactical Invocation

“Hold the line not with weapons, but with the will to remain one.”

Kor’lok-blessed commanders emphasize coordination over carnage, calling in reinforcements, supply links, or psychological warfare rather than raw firepower. They often lead multi-caste detachments known as Chordian Battlegroups — seamless, synchronized units acting as a single thought.

Warlord Trait: Starweaver’s Mantle

While this warlord is on the battlefield, all friendly T’au units within 6" may reroll failed morale checks. Once per game, at the start of any phase, you may choose one unit within 12" to immediately act as if it were the movement phase — repositioning as Kor’lok realigns the stars.

Ethereal Doctrine: The Fifth Voice

Kor’lok’s doctrine, The Fifth Voice, is a silent teaching — one passed not through words, but through ritual, expression, and alignment. It is believed to be the “tone” that Ethereals subtly project to maintain unity across vast distances. Some say the Aun’sight is a gift from Kor’lok himself.
